We are looking for some help today.
We cover the Soccer Club of Maine, which is the parent organization that is home to the Portland Hearts of Pine and now the Maine Wildness, the new women’s team that kicks off its inaugural season next spring.
The Hearts’ Beat logo was created several months ago, before the announcement of the name and crest for the women’s team. Our original logo only contained colors from the Hearts of Pine, and it needs to incorporate colors chosen for the Wildness. It’s very important to us that fans of both teams feel represented.
The teams’ crests share some of the same colors, but the women’s team includes the color of lupine, the blue-violet of the wild plant that blooms along the side of Maine’s hills and roads in June. All six of the logo options include the blue-violet in various degrees.
Please give these a look and then vote on which one is your favorite. Just use the comment section to type the letter representing your choice. We will also be tabulating votes via Instagram. Voting will run through Sunday, and we will announce the winner Monday. Those of us who live in Maine are familiar with ranked-choice voting, but we are limiting this to just your top choice. (And remember to cast your ballot next week if you haven’t voted early!)
Thank you in advance for helping us out. And especially, thank you for following along with The Hearts’ Beat in this wild and still burgeoning world of soccer that you all are playing a role in growing.

Logo F! (If we're doing rank choice, my second vote would be E)
